Congratulations to the fifth year students who took part in Sandford Park School’s production of “Detective Story” by Sidney Kingsley. The play ran for three nights this week and was enthusiastically received by the many parents, students and friends who supported it.
The students involved were Remi Naidoo who played the part of Mary McLeod and Emma White who played Susan Carmichael. Both girls gave powerful performances of their challenging roles.
Iona Campbell, Lana Mullen, Ceara Dorman, Lia Cowan and Hazel Conway also played the various characters who come in to the New York police station where the play is set.
Special mention must be made of Annie Conlon who played a petty thief who is in the station for the best part of the evening and who sustained her character and performance throughout and added a special comic twist to the otherwise quite serious content.
A wonderful evening’s entertainment with the girls, as usual, doing us proud.
