From the Office
A big thank you to all those who attended the JACA Social evening last Saturday. Thank you also to those of you, who donated the amazing prizes, bought raffle tickets and bid successfully for auction items on the evening. As a result of your support, we have the funds now to set up the Junior School Library in Jellicoe and to bring the Accelerated Reader programme into the school in September. Every child in the school will benefit from these new developments. Special thanks to JACA Chairperson, Tanya McEnroe, and all the members of the JACA committee who ensured that the whole evening ran smoothly.
Thank you for supporting Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. We raised over €700. I am very grateful to the J5 girls who helped to sell all the items.
After Care Invoices: They will go home next Monday, April 3rd, and need to be paid as soon as possible.
Progress Reports and Updated Date list: These will go home in schoolbags on Wednesday, April 5th. Please keep an eye on the JS section of the Alex Press each week as dates and times to events can change and the Alex Press will have the most updated information.
Easter Cake Boxes: It is a tradition in Alex that the girls decorate a cake box with an Easter theme. The boxes went home last Monday and the girls are asked to be returned by Tuesday, April 4th. The boxes will be judged and a winner will be chosen from each class. This event is sponsored by JACA. The girls will take the cake boxes home after April 4th and hopefully will bring them back in on Friday with lots of cakes/cupcakes/cookies to sell! The annual Easter Cake Sale will take place on Friday, April 7th at 1.30pm.
