A Day in the Life of a Vet (J5/J6)

We were all very impressed with local vet Mark Heffernan as he gave a super talk on the life of a vet. Mark talked about how he operated on cats, dogs, rabbits and hamsters. He had super photos! Most days, his practice in Terenure deals with basic checkups of animals and with the vaccinating, neutering and microchipping of household pets. He talked about the good foods vs bad foods to give dogs- carrots and dog food being good, while chocolate, cooked chicken bones, raisins and grapes are to be avoided. Mark emphasised the importance of looking after our pets. Overall, it was a really interesting presentation and we look forward to Mark visiting the school again soon.

Special Surprise for J6!

J6 had a fantastic surprise in assembly this week. JACA presented the girls with an early graduation gift of beautiful personalised sweatshirts. JACA would like to thank the girls for all their hard work over the years and especially this year with various events and helping out daily with our younger classes! Well done, girls, and good luck in the Senior School!

J6 Visit Bodies Exhibition

The girls in J6 had a very interesting day out on Thursday. They visited the amazing Bodies Exhibition at the Ambassador Theatre and also went into see the National Art Gallery. They all agreed that it was a wonderful day out.

J5 Assembly on Mindfulness

Many of our classes are using the mindfulness programme to help the girls to be less anxious and relax a little more. J5 shared their thoughts on the programme at assembly today. A key element of the programme teaches us all how to respond rather than react in difficult situations. The girls gave examples of times that they use mindfulness to help them eg. before tests, falling out with a friend etc.
