The College Orchestra is an inclusive group for orchestral players from all years and of all standards. String, wind, brass and percussion players are all welcome. The orchestra meets once a week after school and is under the direction of Mr. Ron Cooney and Ms. Vanessa Sweeney.
For the more advanced string players there is an opportunity to play in the String Chamber Orchestra which meets once a week before the school day.
The orchestra has forged a link with the boys from Clongowes Wood College and have shared a concert every year for the past few years.
There are also many opportunities for string players to play in string quartets and many music students opt to play with their quartet for the practical part of their Junior or Leaving Certificate exams.
