International Relations

ir31

International Relations starts as a module in fourth year.

* Students research the ” old world ” relationships, relating to colonisation and colonies. Following this they look at possible ” new world” colonisation, e.g. the relationship of China and Africa.

* Students undertake a study of the EU and Ireland’s position as a member of the ir21EU.

* The work of organisations such as the UN and OSCE are noted.

* World changes as they are occurring are discussed, and how these changes impact on international relations.

* Students as a result are encouraged to become involved in MUN ( Model United Nations) and EYP ( European Youth Parliament) , many of whom have gone on to represent Ireland at International level.
