Write, Direct, Shoot, Edit
In the Filmmaking Module, students have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit their own short film.
They will learn to explore the art and technique of visual storytelling and develop their writing skills in the areas of story, structure, character, conflict and dialogue.
Students will participate in practical classes covering directing, writing, cinematography, production and editing.
They will then work in small groups to produce their own film, gaining hand-on experience in pre-production and post-production.
The short films are then shown on Transition Year Performance Night (as part of that range of modules). The short films will also be entered into the National Fresh Film Festival Competition and the Alexandra College Film Festival Competition, with an Oscar Ceremony held at the end of the school film festival.
