Basketball
Basketball was for a long time the “ poor relation” sport, but with the advent of outside coaches and the influence of girls joining clubs, things have improved greatly. Over the last six years Alex basketball has witnessed three Dublin League wins at Senior and Cadette level, three runners-up including Second Year League, and we have featured in three All-Ireland semi-finals.
On January 9th 2009 our Cadettes travel to Clonmel to take on St Brides of Cork in the All-Ireland semis-a report and photos will follow-hopefully documenting an historic Alex win! To all our team-players, a big thank you for dedication, we look forward to 09 for our new First Years and our “old-head” Second Years.And of course our brilliant Cadettes, whom we are very proud of. To our out-going Seniors, a huge vote of thanks for all your efforts to enhance Alex Bball. Watch this space-Corkonians you have been warned!!
