We were delighted to hear that two of our students were winners in the annual AIJS Poetry Competition. The theme was “Peace” and there were entries from ten different schools.

Runner Up in J3/J4 category: Olivia Wilson (J4W)
JS Christmas Shows
This was a really lovely performance by the girls from J3-J5 as they sang Away in a Manger (Alan Woods) and Calypso Carol (Michael A. Perry). The choir was directed by Ms. Fitzgerald and Ms. Murray and the girls were accompanied on piano by Mr. Wilson.
The girls from J1-J6 played Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Auld Lang Syne. The girls played beautifully. The orchestra is directed by Ms. Hakanen O’ Rourke.
Christmas with the Aliens (KGL-J1)
A fun and entertaining nativity story! Well done to all the girls and to everyone else for making it all happen. Special thanks to Ms. Crowley (Drama teacher) and Ms. Boyd, Ms. Smith (Art/props), Ms. Fitzgerald (Music), Mr. Wilson (accompanist), class teachers Ms. Martin, Ms. Halford, Ms. Richardson and to the TY Drama students.
A Dickens of a Christmas (J2-J6)
The rainy cold day set the atmosphere for one of our favourite Dickens’ tales – A Christmas Carol. Another wonderful performance by our girls from J2-J6 this time. Thank you to Ms. Quinn (Drama teacher), Ms. Brehony (Head of Drama in SS), Ms. Fitzgerald (Head of Music in JS), Mr. Wilson (accompanist), Ms. Smith (Art/props), Mr. Fitzgerald, Ms. Newell (Dance), Ms. Evans, Ms. McGarry (programme), all the J2-J6 class teachers and to the wonderful TY Drama students who helped us enormously with the lighting, sound and behind the scenes. It was lovely to also have Ms. Dabek and Mr. Rycraft accompany part of the show too. We are so fortunate to have such talented music, drama and art teachers in the College. Well done to everyone!
We’ve Got Mail! - Christmas Post boxes
A lovely annual tradition in Alex College is for each class to create a special Christmas-themed post box. The girls then write cards for their friends. Look how creative the girls are!
A Visit from Santa
A special visitor came to our Preschoolers and KGs on Thursday!
