Optional Extra Classes 2018/2019: A link was sent to you by email last Wednesday, May 29th, to let you sign up your daughter(s) to optional extra classes. Music classes were available for you to sign up to as well. If a class is full, you will go on to a waiting list. There is often movement between the classes, so Ms. Higgins will let you know if a place becomes available.

Booklists 2019/2020

JS Booklists for 2019/2020 are now on the school website. (Under Parent Information)

Cripps Footwear

A rep from Cripps Footwear was in the school this week to give parents the opportunity to get their daughters’ feet measured and to order school shoes and runners for September. If you were unable to make it on the day, Olga from Cripps will take the Alex orders in her shop for the next two weeks.

Dentist Visits J3W

We had another very special visitor in class this week – Maebh’s Mum, Caoimhe! She is a dentist who lectures in Trinity College. Caoimhe taught us that we all have bugs in our mouths and dentists are constantly trying to get rid of them. She spoke about plaque and told us if you eat sweets that we need to chew them quickly rather than savour them. That way, the bugs don’t have so much time to attack your teeth. Everyone should brush their teeth for three minutes, twice a day to  ensure your teeth are clean and healthy. If you can’t brush your teeth after eating sweets, try and use mouthwash instead. It was a lot of fun and we learned so much.

J4W Assembly

In assembly this week, J4 White shared some of what they have learned about the great scientist Charles Darwin. They described key moments in Darwin’s life and discussed his legacy, all of which were accompanied by their own illustrations. Finally, they sang ‘I Wanna Be Like You’ from The Jungle Book. Well done, girls!
