A huge ‘well done’ to the students of 3B and 3S who spent Thursday night (25th Oct) on the floor of the Old School Gym, and to the teachers who accompanied them for this charitable cause for the homeless. This activity was a gesture of support for those many people who find themselves without a place to call home, and for those working to help them get through their difficult time.
Over the past month An Máistir Ó Conluain’s Third Year CSPE classes have been planning, raising awareness and fundraising for their chosen charities The Fr Peter McVerry Trust (3B) and Focus Ireland (3S). They addressed Assembly, held a very successful Bake Sale, designed informative posters and invited guest speakers to address the classes. The sponsored Sleep Out – although only for one single night – was organised in order to give the girls some understanding of what it is like to sleep in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable place. Interestingly some of the girls involved in last year’s project opted to do their TY Work Experience recently with these charities.
Many thanks to all the families and staff who have supported this project. If you wish to help with our fundraising you can contact An Máistir Ó Conluain over the next week at firstname.lastname@example.org
When the money raised is all counted we will let you know the amounts sent to each of these wonderful charities for the homeless.
